Universal electrically conductive grease “Supercont” (Russian patent number 2,046,412 registered on Oct 20, 1995) is designed for use in a separable and detachable electrical contact connections made of any conductive metals and their alloys in any combination. The grease is made of highly conductive substance. It is used to stabilize electrical contacts by increasing contact surface area of touching elements. Thus, the connection becomes much more steady and secure.
Universal highly-conductive lubricant “Supercont” has passed the qualifying examination and extensive industrial tests on the leading chemical and metallurgical Russian plants. Some tests were done abroad. According to leading Israeli magnesium plants experts, who have an extensive experience in the use of protective lubricant s and pastes for electrical connections, Russian conductive grease “Supercont” is significantly better than the similar world’s leading products -“Electrolube” (HK Wentworth Ltd, UK), “Molykote” (Dow Corning Corp, USA), “Alu-plus” (WAGO Kontakttechnik GmbH & Co KG, Germany) by its technical properties and qualities.
How does Electrically Conductive Grease help?
Implementation of electrical grease “Supercont” increases the reliability of contacts, reduces costs for maintenance. The lubricant does it by increasing contact surface area of touching elements. Thus, the connection becomes much more steady and reliable.
The lubricant is used in collapsible/demountable electrical contacts made of any conductive metals and their alloys in any combination; in both – AC and DC types of circuits. It ensures effective corrosion protection from the majority of aggressive aerosols, gases, dust and moisture. The lubricant reduces transient contact electric resistance by 2.5 times and more. It reduces the operating temperature of the contact in comparison to conventional contact without any lubrication. Contact lubricated with “Supercont” can withstand significant current overloads and also overheating up to 300ºC (572ºF).
Advantages:
- Reduces the consumption of electrical energy up to 10%
- Low consumption – usage is about 1 oz. per 1 sq. foot of contact surface
- Operating temperature: grease withstands long periods of repeated overheating of contacts up to 300ºC (572ºF) while maintaining the initial contact resistance
- Especially designed grease’s organic base provides reliable corrosion protection against aggressive chemicals like acids, alkalis, gas etc. The base can be modified as needed to enhance the protective properties for some specific aggressive substance
- Reduces transient contact electric resistance by 2.5 times and more
- Can be used for both, AC and DC applications
- There are no operating current and voltage limits
When applying the conductive grease, it’s NOT necessary to use:
- transitive copper-aluminum contact plates
- plating work surface electrical contact with copper foil
- electroplating with infrequent metals
- tinning
- friction greases
- liquid metal indium-gallium contact pads
- welding along the perimeter of contacts
Lubricant “Supercont” can be used in electrical equipment in:
- chemical, metallurgical, machine-building plants
- hydro-metallurgical plants
- nuclear industry
- coal mining quarries and mines
- thermal, hydraulic and nuclear power plants
- electrical substations, high voltage lines
- railroad, sea, air, road, local transportation, and subways
- urban municipal services
- military equipment
- lightning protection
The applications and conditions where Grease “Supercont” is exceptionally highly efficient:
- premises with high humidity level
- premises with emission of corrosive chemical aerosols, gases, and dust
- kinds of manufacturing/production entailing direct wetting of contacts with aggressive fluids
- high humidity climate world zones in general
- case of badly worn contacts
